The Best Day of my life.

December 3, 2010 we had gone in for a fetal physical and to have my water checked. I was going to be induced Dec 7th because I had preeclampsia. They did an ultrasound and said everything looked great and that they would see me on monday. Emery had other plans. The next day I was having alot of cramping and was throwing up. Mt whole pregnancy I was extremely sick, so it was no shock to me when I woke up throwing up on Dec 4th… I had no reason to think that I was in labor. I told Ed that I didn’t feel right. He asked me if I thought I was in labor and mind you, this is 4:30am he had to be at work at 5am. So I told him no and that I’d call him if anything changed. HE left and I tried to go back to sleep, no luck. I thrashed around in bed for about 20 min, tried sitting in the tub… but I couldn’t take it anymore. I was in labor. I called my dad being as it was Saturday, I knew he’d be home. I dont know why my first instinct was to call my dad… but any way. He sped to the hospital and they rushed me to labor and delivery. By the time I got upstairs I had dilated to 7.5. I remember the nurse saying “someone call the dad…. she’s ready”. Ed got there so now its about 6:30. for the most part everyone was in the freaking delivery room… my grandma was on her cell phone i remember yelling at her. my grandma has this voice that carries…. my dad was in the hall with strict orders not to let Ed’s mom in…. any way I had no pain drugs at this point. I’m screaming and my blood pressure is rising. I wanted to wait for my doctor to come… here’s the kicker SHE WAS OUT OF TOWN! So they called the on-call doctor in to deliver Emery. I was able to get an epidural but we were pushing it. I was 9 cm when I got my epidural and my contractions were back to back. I remember holding Ed’s shoulders as he put the needle in my back. After about 5 hours of on and off pushing Emery was here, all 6lbs 12 oz of him :)
